Emmanuel
Anyiam-Osigwe

Emmanuel Anyiam-Osigwe MBE is a global theatrical distribution executive specialising in UK and international cinema releases, audience development, and commercial performance strategy.

At BUFF Studios, he leads end-to-end theatrical planning – from release windowing and exhibitor negotiations to P&A optimisation, box office analysis, and cross-territory distribution partnerships.

From London to LA to Lagos, the BUFF Studios remit is centred around building sustainable theatrical pathways for independent films, strengthening relationships with exhibitors, and maximising revenue through smart scheduling, targeted marketing, and data-driven forecasting.

As Head of Global Theatrical Distribution for BUFF Studios, Emmanuel works closely with sales agents, cinemas, festival programmers and rights-holders to deliver impactful launches across the UK and emerging markets. Whether positioning a first-time filmmaker or scaling a commercial title, bring a collaborative, solutions-driven approach grounded in real market data.

With a track record spanning over 2 decades, Emmanuel is passionate about increasing access for underrepresented storytellers and building new models for independent distribution.

Clare Anyiam-Osigwe:

Clare Anyiam-Osigwe BEM is an award-winning film director and screenwriter, former lead script juror and co-chair of the BAFTA accredited British Urban Film Festival (BUFF) and founder of the Wellness Film Festival. 

In 2018, her directorial debut feature NO SHADE secured a UK & NYC release making Clare (at the time) just the 6th black British woman to secure theatrical distribution in 123 years of British Cinema. Set in London, the romantic drama starred Adesuwa Oni (QUEEN NJINGA), and has been streamed over 15 million times on Amazon Prime, Apple TV and Tubi. 

Later that year Clare was commissioned by The Voice Media Group to produce and direct a short documentary, WINDRUSH STORIES celebrating 70 years since the arrival of the first Caribbean settlers to the UK.  

In 2022, Clare secured her first broadcast credits on network television, directing multiple episodes of THE BREAK (BBC), HOLLYOAKS (Channel 4) and CORONATION STREET (ITV). She also co-executive produced the BUFF Originals documentary ABSOLUTELY MARVELLOUS.

In April 2025, Clare published her first book as an author. “CLARITY”, a semi-autobiographical, self-help book was released by BUFF Books, the literary arm of BUFF and became a top 20 Amazon best seller in its first 6 months of publication. 

In July 2025, Clare, alongside her husband Emmanuel co-executive produced IREKE: RISE OF THE MAROONS – a Nollywood action thriller directed by Emmy-nominated BBC journalist, Peter Macjob. The film was released internationally by BUFF Studios in multiple territories including the UK and Canada. 

In October 2025, Clare – a trained dermatologist – hosted the inaugural Wellness Film Festival launch summit in Central London with a taster day of yoga & journalling sessions, sound baths plus author & filmmaker interviews.   

In addition to her role as Chief Financial Officer at BUFF Studios, Clare is developing a drama slate for BUFF Originals including her next scheduled feature FINDING FOREVER. 

Alex Kayode-Kay

Alex Kayode-Kay is a BAFTA-nominated director, writer and producer working across film and television. His work includes the award-winning historical short The Ballad of Olive Morris, which won Best Short Film at the Windrush Caribbean Film Festival and was nominated for Best British Short Film at the 2023 BAFTA Film Awards.

Alex is currently developing his feature directorial debut, EATON, a Victorian-era historical drama centered on Fanny Eaton, widely regarded as Britain’s first Black supermodel. The project was announced at the 2026 European Film Market (EFM) Berlin in a Deadline exclusive, with BIFA winner Susan Chardy attached to star and Kate Herron attached as executive producer.

Alongside narrative work, Alex also directs and produces short-form and branded content for major global platforms and continues to develop projects focused on under-represented British histories.

Simone Brown

Simone Brown is a story consultant and content creator whose past work includes short films, music videos and digital storytelling. Passionate about narratives that shift perspectives and build empathy, she contributes her creative insight to BUFF Studios as Associate Producer.

Alex Franklyn

 

Alex has worked in filmmaking for several years, both in front of and behind the camera. She appeared in Ireke, which premiered at Cannes and was released across three continents, and has contributed to numerous other projects.

She is a published author of the novels The Empathist and Cleaners Wanted, and a contributing writer for the upcoming horror anthology As Told Under The Moon (October 2025), while also working on a new book. Alongside her day job, she enjoys travel, socialising, and caring for her opinionated cat, Noodle.
